"Jasmin" is closing the gap though, it's going to be tight.

There was a comment many pages ago about “recent events”. Here is the obituary behind it irunfar.com I knew Ed reasonably well having crossed paths at centurion races - more so as a volunteer as he was way faster then me. RIP Ed Take care out there in the winter…. |

Extremely sad though. An ex colleague, Lucy Gossage, was second lady across the line, bumped down to third because Hannah Rickman has a good samaritan time bonus. Took a very long time Byrness to Hut 2, possibly got lost as her tracker showed her stationary a few hundred metres off course for a while. Stellar performance for a first shot at this though. She's an oncologist so practiced at sleep deprivation. |

That’s interesting Badger. I was cheering for Hannah (a family friend) She is also a medic .. but works in Malawi. Not the best place to train for this race ??

Phenomenal running and just be disappointing to battle for your place to lose out for a Good Samaritan bonus as it’s not something you can factor for. It’s great that people are recognised for & helping but I expect most would anyway (or I hoped they would). My friend and I walked with a lady during our first ultra she was really struggling mentally and physically we got her to next checkpoint then about 5m out she went flying past us after a rest!! She spoke to us at the end and said without our help she’d have pulled. It added a good 45min to our run. My running club lady came in with Nicky Spinks presumably joint 4th. Now the top ones are in you really see the strength of will the normal runners have. Unreal. |
