I ran the NAL Premier this weekend. 3000m. I would have preferred a 5000m personally, but that was only for the men. The men's steeple is also 3000m compared to 2000m for the women.
Mind you, now it's combined men and women it's already a very, very long day. Especially for clubs that have to travel. Add another 2000m + 1000m to the two women's races and it wouldn't finish until 7pm. Maybe the men should race the shorter distances?
I got a PB. 10.43.10.

Congrats on the PB Speedy.
Re the length of the day, could alternate the weekends when women do the longer distance so it's not at the same time as the men.
The plan for the Midlands league this weekend is that the 5000 for men and women goes off as one race. That's another alternative.

Disaster of a mile Wednesday with rain storms and a flooded track impacting the warm up and the race.
Turns out I also had a cold (COVID TEST TAKEN to be sure) and the last few days have not been pretty.
Just been asked to run the 1500 at Mens League on Sunday so of course I said yes

Sunday looks to have showers in the forecast but hopefully not as bad as what we saw last weekend or midweek.
5000 for me in the league on Sunday. Was supposed to be guesting but now scoring which is technically not much different this year. Warm up for MK.

Final vets match of 3 on Wednesday night. Season's bests in the shot, the 200 (going in the right direction since early June) and most pleasingly of all in the long jump. Jumped the furthest I have since 2018 - which given that I am now 68 counts more than ever.
Also a disappointing javelin throw, but that's work in progress so I'm not too worried. Oh and leg 3 of the 4x1.
I had only planned to do LJ, 200 and jav... but got my arm twisted as per.
SAL for me on Sunday.

I get another tick. Aiming for sub 11.30 in the 3000 steeplechase as PB 11.36. Knew I could go faster though. Won the Scottish masters M50 champs in 10.54, also setting a new M50 Scottish record. Delighted

Jim from Dumfries by any chance? A great guy who took the M55 record today.
