Looks like a lovely place NZD, enjoy the race.
Enjoyed parkrun but had to change plan as the local one cancelled with ice.

It is a shame the weather is going to be a little trying but fingers crossed not as bad as you think.
Just hope any wind is behind you.

No rain yet but very windy. I'm guessing this is one of the few HM/M courses that includes a couple of rum stops!

@NZD could do with both some of your temperatures and the rum stops here this morning!!

Enjoy :-)!!

-1.5C here this morning, grey and dreak, and a cold NE breeze straight from Tynemouth made it feel even dreakier if that were possible :-)

Despite all that 5.2 miles done in 58:20 (11:16m/m) with HR 129/143 and 90m climb overall
Actually felt quite comfortable for the first time in a age over that distance, so despite the modest time, felt slightly encouraged.
Knee only grumbled intermittently whilst running, didn't like it when I stopped, but Mr Sensible hat on said enough for today

@NZD - there is the islay Half Marathon in the UK sponsored by the Ardberg Distillery whose prizes appear to feature large quantities of their products :-)

I was down to do it with some friends some years ago but had to pull out when my back went and I was being lined up for the operation- never been fit enough to do it since!!

From my Thursday post

"Obviously inspired by the Toon's long run of victories, which however, may be under some threat this Saturday - but for the moment ... "

Wish I wasn't so accurate with my forescasting :-(

Gusty with strong head wind in a few places but not too bad. 1:50:52 (1:50:47 chip), 1st M70+ & oldest by 3 yrs so have to be reasonably happy. Alas not quite sub-1:50 🙂

Well done @NZD

During my run today there were occasional patches of blue sky overhead, though the distant fells were shrouded in cloud. The ground was damp but not too muddy. My formerly troublesome knee continues to be troublefree.

Thanks guys. Just realised it was also a half marathon lifetime PB for me four weeks shy of 77! Mainly courtesy of having done my first HM at 69 of course.
