The original A40 went through Southall and Hayes over 2 miles to the south and was rerouted only in the later 1930s.

The map is also wrong, the park is called Islip Manor, not Islips Manor. It may look difficult to access, but it can be seen if you know where to look. It's just off the footpath that goes past Alec Reed Academy (trig point is within their grounds).

I've now added the ability for you to manually bag points, so if you have a GPS fail (or you visited before GPS), there's no need to be disappointed :-) The popups on the map contain a link, as do the pages for each individual point.

Nice. I get the feeling you've been enjoying doing this feature Fetch :)

Yes, it's been fun. Some long runs needed for me to bag my next-nearest local ones.

I’m not sure if I’m getting into feature request territory here. I got a notification that my run had bagged me a new hill or trigpoint but when I clicked on the notification, there was nothing to indicate which hill/trig I had collected. It would be useful if the map centred on that point when you click the notification.

^^ Agreed. I had the same yesterday and have no idea what I'd bagged. ideally it could do with the name/category in a notification and then centre on the map point when you click it.

I'd also like to be able to set the detection radius used. I only want to bag things I go to, not something I might, knowingly or unknowingly, pass by. 80m is a fair distance and in rough terrain it's quite possible you can't even see the feature. Pretty sure this one *should* be a feature request :)

^^^ same here on Saturday. I had notifications that I’d bagged a new Wainwright and a new point. Only Wainwrights I hit were Catbells and Walla, both already in my collection?

Found the point using the map layer on my route, turns out it was Shepherds Crag due to bouncy GPS so given back.

Looking at the route you can see where it picked up the point. Not sure there’s even a decent way up it, backed up with the fact no one has bagged it!! Agree a tighter tolerance would be better.

About This Thread

Given the auto bagging recognition developents, first Wainwrights and now all sorts, opening up a thread for general discussion and whatever comes next.

And hopefully leave the Lake District Lovers thread for Lake District topics.
