Somewhere that units of measurement matter to me is shoe size, where the size I need varies - at least in UK sizes. In Euro sizes, however, I'm a 42.

" If someone uses kgs instead of lbs has anyone died because of that"

Actually: simscale.com

Ok not death, but pretty serious.

I've been in favour of removal of all imperial units for years. It's time this country stopped being idiotically nostalgic. Brexit has shown where that leads.

And yes, shoe should sold in cm so that there is less variation between brands and it's easier for the consumer.

If you don't get it, then fair enough, but it's bonkers to persist with imperial units on the argument that old folk are more comfortable with archaic units. Just go metric and they'll have to learn to adapt.

That's what millenials keep getting told as all the drawbridges are pulled up.

Done.

I retract my last contribution: neither of the incidents I was thinking of had that as the cause.
