Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Yes I'm sure there will be a handful of testing errors leading to results like that. There were some right near the start which caused some excitement before being dismissed as errors. OTOH there are now more substantial signs of immunity being lost over a few months which if it really means what it looks like, doesn't bode well at all. It may be reasonable to hope that genuine reinfections are less severe, but that seems a bit of a guess at this point.

Lidl won’t be enforcing mandatory face coverings in Scotland apparently.

I hope a buff is acceptable, otherwise I've not got anything ready-made at home to use.

I'm pretty sure a buff is acceptable. It's not like there's anything special about the cloth masks

I doubt many shops will enforce. England say police will enforce

the ruling is face covering so yes a buff should be OK - I'll be using one in quarters as that just covers the required bit of the face!

I think with other corona viruses it is common that is immunity is lost over a matter of months.

The Oxford Uni team I've read reckon their vaccine counteracts this somehow (I don't know how - I can't find the article which outlined why they were confident). But it better work given that we've opted out of the EU vaccine programs. Oxford or bust!

The talk in the I inews.co.uk about 30 million doses being available by September is totally premature, it seems tho. December is best case scenario, although France yesterday were saying unlikely in 2021 at all.

I don’t expect a vaccine or indeed for the virus to be eliminated, I don’t believe any other similar viruses have been. Smallpox is the only disease that has been eliminated I think.

I presume we will just carry on in this fog until we decide whether or not we are bigger as a race than than this disease.

In the mean time whether intentional or not, China seems to have unleashed an economic shock on the rest of the world and benefits from it
