I thought it might, hillstrider! 'The White Star' has a most impressive and largely unaltered interior; and, about 300 yards from Thomas Ismay's former residence is that of Captain Edward John Smith, who went down with 'The Titanic'.

Steve, we accept that as we get older our pace and strength decreases, and if we have had injuries etc. in the past - as you have - that of course limits us further. Don't belittle your efforts, whatever they may be; you do the best you can, given your limitations, and you should be proud of that. Many others in your situation would have given up long ago. Just try to find fulfilment in your runs, and be thrilled that you are still able to run. [End of Lecture!]

Couldn’t agree more Evangel. I always try to think “how lucky I am” every time I manage a run of any description.

I agree also with Evangel, we are lucky to still be running, jogging or walking.
I could have given up after my menisci tears in June 2017, but spent the next year walking and hobbling, and have got back to full fitness, albeit slower than I would have been without the injury. I'm not racing much now, but enjoying my running with my amazing friends. 😁 Today is a rest day.

Ditto this! That you’re out there still doing is all that really matters.

Thanks everyone! That's certainly given me a lift even though my ego continues to protest 😡 Didn't run this morning on this solstice day morning and now wish I had😂

Not too late Steve although I know you prefer early mornings. I had an easy trot this morning with a pal. Enjoy your rest HS you’ve done some quality running.

From this afternoons run, dark by 3.45pm. It was freezing but worth the skive from work to see the sunset.

Lovely photo Lesley. We've not had any sunshine at all here for ten days now and it's thick cloud again this morning. I didn't get a run in after all LL, once morning has gone I'm in a different mode! Which is not really ideal. Chilly at 2c and a mere mile run this morning during which I've noted I've lost my mojo! My wife thought that a week or so so ago but I hate admitting it; not happened before, I'll continue to get up early and push through and will still end up with more miles than in 2018 and 2019.
