The hot weather has broken here, thankfully.

Still working my way, loosely, through the 40+ plan. Today was 6 x 5 mins, alternating 24 and 26 spm. I think I did too much of a warmup, 6k at UT2-ish, because I bailed out halfway after 4 reps. I just felt weary. Still a decent workout but next time a shorter warmup will be the order of the day.

6k is definitely a lot of warming up for that session. I might go to 4.5k warming up for a 2k test but otherwise 3k is about my limit. Not surprised you were weary, particularly if it’s still quite warm there.

I miscalculated the distances. I try to make my workouts come to about 10K so I should have gone 3k or so to warm up with 1k to cool down after if needed. Doh.

We all get carried away now and then mate.

I put the rower on the patio tonight and did 30 r18. Nice and easy and done in time to be sat in front of the telly before kick-off.

And in theory I should be demonstrating this on Saturday, as I foolishly signed up for the BVIRC. But I may be a DNS as very little training appears to have been happening over the past couple of weeks!

If you've paid for it you might as well give it a go, CW. What's the worst that could happen?*

*make sure there's a chunder bucket handy. This is not in any way to be considered medical advice You compete at your own risk. ;-)
