I assume you could use a cable rather than DPNS for that jumper? I mean you can with socks?!

Nice! I know how you feel about wanting to try it out before buying. I have a couple of books floating around the house that I wish I could have seen all the patterns in it before buying!!

Those Ganseys are lovely, but I'd have reservations about the wool aas I find a lot of wool very itchy. Seeing the price of the knitted ganseys I was actually pleasantly surprised at the price of a kit, but I don't think it would be for me as I like fitted knitwear and they are very straight sided (I'm not!). £25 for a hat kit seems rather good though!
