Having never done this before, I have 2 main questions: 1. Is wax going to survive a downpour? I rode for an hour last week in heavy rain and my newly oiled chain seemed to cope but all the road filth did stick to it - even with mudguards. Ideally I'd like to be out longer in the rain and not have to worry about my chain. 2. Would this type of cheap leg waxing pot serve to melt wax for use on a chain? Good video here on "is chain waxing worth it?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddi1AMP6xYc He says in wet environments, with a waxed chain, you need to dry it after each ride. And the biggest hassle is stripping off the manufacturer's lubricant.
