Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Mine is 1x11. The range is fine for the most part. Now that I’m closer to bike fit I don’t generally run out of gears for climbing. It’s more straightforward and no confusion with the lever for the dropper post.

Mines a 1X 12 speed and it's a 30 and 11-51 (or thereabouts).

Why were you warned off Whyte? Fozzy

Someone I know (who is a very good MTB racer) had several friends get injured (not from falling off) riding Whytes apparently.

Just done a quick search, and nothing obvious relating to this.

I sure as hell WON'T be doing a lot of technical stuff. I'm shit at it.

Bike sales and marketing. Also laziness from frame designers. I could explain more but I can’t be arsed. With 1 x don’t confuse range with gradation between gears. It’s not for everyone.

I hate front mechs, they never align properly (not triples, anyway). 1x11 here which is fine for everything I need. My son, far better than I am, runs 1x10 (because otherwise he'd have to spend money) and gets up and down most things, but he is properly fit and strong.

Can't see why a Whyte bike would "injure" someone, unless their frames regularly broke in the same place. I've not heard of that being an issue, but that's not to say I've listened to the right people...

I think you have to be riding a lot to really notice if there are deficiencies in the 1x setup. For me I'll take whatever gears I'm given, providing the easiest one gets me up most hills.

whatever you ride, enjoy it :)

Gravel also welcome :)

Also, is 26 dead yet?
