Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Sweet liquorice Totri.

And cheese and butter is another thing: i come home, start cooking, while chomping on a lump of really mature Gouda. Must stop doing that!

Did all right yesterday though: breakfast was coffee with oat milk and a banana, lunch a closed sandwich with butter and cheese, on the go as I was busy, and supper a courgette rosti. I did have a slice of ontbijtkoek mid afternoon as lunch was meagre...

Now sat in my running gear for my second run/walk in 12 years...

I should also weigh myself. I drink 2-3 litres of water a day, so prefer to weigh myself after morning ablutions. I can easily be a kilo heavier because of fluid intake...

I have improved a lot by logging everything and weighing things that will make a difference- tomatoes don’t but, yes, I weighed my roast meat on Sunday because I could eat the lot!

Beware the sneaky calories - we cook with olive oil but probably put 100 cal into a pan!

I use an enormous amount of olive oil or coconut oil. I can easily halve that! Great tip!

Just been for my 2nd run/walk... Already 4 minutes faster on my 3.8 km hilly off road... That should help too... Once I am down to half an hour for that route, I can start adding distance... When speed goes up, calories used go up too...

it's a good reason to make sure we fuel long and hard runs properly and also azx's regular time trial might not be a bad idea

Funnily enough I did my 10k TT today. If I take the ratio of my weight today to last week and multiply that by last week's time, I got a prediction of 54:33 (down from 54:55). I actually took 54:34! I wasn't aiming for a specific time nor did I know exactly how I was doing, just going out hard.

Read that article RH, very interesting.

I've read the article too, and I can imagine if you are racing regularly and really care about the positional results then it holds true, at my level of recreational training my performance isn't that important in the scheme of things, and would like to think i'm not reducing my calories too significantly anyway.

I did think 3 weeks at a time was short, it takes 2 weeks to get the scales moving here, and 10lbs over 28 weeks felt like a long time, probably sustainable though

A few healthy olives and a bit of cheese. How many calories? The entire tub is 200g.
