We fly to Skiathos next Sunday for a week in a two bedroom apartment. Really looking forward to it, not been to Greece for 16 years.
However, I'm also looking forward to our annual camping holiday in August.
17 nights in a tent, in a field in Cornwall. Not exactly off grid, but totally laid back (literally, since I bought the hammock)

Lol, to be fair the idea is just a single night/weekend away, to extend the range of day trips really. Bollocks to spending a week in the thing..
Me and Ex used to have this bafflingly massive tent that took an age to put up and a ridiculous amount of gear that meant one of us 'had' to have a big car to lug all the shit about.
Once you totted up the cost of the gear, extra petrol 52 weeks a year and things like camping gas (she didn't like to be cold) B&bs would have been cheaper.
This new thing is more minimalist, apart from the airmatress

Isn't camping for those people who forget how much they like sleep / their own bed?
Certainly going by my experiences..

Our camping bed is a 2ft high air bed with built in electrical pump. it is very comfy. In fact, while we were decorating our bedroom last year, we slept on it for a week downstairs.

I'm the same as ER, a catalogue camper. The idea of it is much the best thing. 17 nights of it would wreck me.

A 2 man tent each for a mate and myself for a weekend at car racing, after a session of drinking it's not too bad. The only downside is we're both over 50 and the toilet is never close enough during the night after a few cans of beer.

Here is my post festival report: No matter how many berths the camper an hire company tells you it has, in reality it would only be “comfortable”, a). If it was hooked up and b). If the number of occupants was 2, or n-4
