Kayaking made its Superstars debut and John Conteh, Malcolm MacDonald and Stan Bowles all capsized. Bowles provided a moment of terror and hilarity. During the pistol shooting event, Bowles took his first shot with the .38 caliber pistol and then rested the tip of the pistol on the table in front of him. Suddenly, the other competitors ducked for cover as another shot was heard and Bowles looked down at the hole in the table in front of him. When the fright subsided, the other competitors erupted in fits of laughter.
