I have proper camped in a tent many times and thoroughly enjoyed it, even the wild camping. ![]() I have even gone cycle-camping touring several times. On one of those tours I slept every night in my tent for 10 weeks - I even declined an offer from a camp site to use one of their cabins for the same price as for camping on a very snowy night in The Far North in June ![]() ![]() |

I’ve had to dig a tent out of the snow on the North Yorkshire Moors in April. I like camping though.

All our family holidays when I was young were camping - hanging on to a tent pole whilst dad tried to get it down before it went over the cliff at Durness during an August storm was a particular low point. macca 53 - my sister lives less than 10 miles from Worthy Farm - my bil stewards each year. I keep telling her she could make a fortune renting out her shower, loo and motor home standing. |

Wild camping is basically the same as living in a skip for a period. I want the battle for room service.

I have camped in horrible places on KIMM and SLMM without killing myself fatally to death (and knowing that it was only for two nights with a running buddy)

RichHL wild camping is a lot tidier and cleaner than a skip, and without the smelly debris ![]() ![]() Mind you, in that cycle camping tour to The Far North I did literally did set up my tent in a rubbish tip and sleep there because it was the only patch of raised dryish land for miles around amongst all the waterlogged ground following the winter snow melt. ![]() ![]() |
