I understand that it can be hereditary in men Velociraptor ( my grandad dad and all his brothers had it and were checked and measured every year until they needed the surgery) but surely women can get it too?

I’m guessing I’ve had a couple of them because of my AF? I’ve certainly had something of that nature?

Fizz :-)
Funnily enough, I was looking at this the other day to see when WW would get his. nhs.uk It’s much more common in men, so women don’t need screening, unless they fall in a high risk category (including hereditary). |

Women (and also men under 65) can develop abdominal aortic aneurysms, but the incidence is lower than in older men and doesn't meet the threshold for screening. If a woman does develop an aortic aneurysm it's more likely to enlarge rapidly and burst, so if your abdomen starts to pulsate don't regard it as a harmless party trick. Greg, you may have, though looking at your abdominal aorta isn't something that would routinely be done as part of an echocardiogram. |

I've agreed to purchase a tent, for the first time in about 30 years of successfully avoiding camping on a regular basis. Part of the agreement is the thickest air mattress in the shop. |

There are some things you should never agree to, no matter how persuasive the argument.
