Need to find somewhere properly dark @Gooner and point your phone camera to the north and take a few seconds exposure. There's people well to the south of you seeing it currently.

Our street lights are off (little village so they always are from late, apart from in bad weather) but still no joy. I wanted to see them with my own eyes, will keep trying.

I think a lot of people couldn't see the aurora with their own eyes but got some photos with long exposures. It was the same where I live.
