I’m in London Town middle of May for the weekend, coming on the Friday so we can do parkrun! Which are your favs I can easily access on the tube?
Done Hampstead Heath and hilly fields so looking for a new one this time. Thinking maybe Mile End as staying in Holborn and seems easy enough to get to.
Thanks :-)

I'm sure we must have discussed this before but I've forgotten.

Queues over the finish line - how do people configure their funnel to avoid this? No matter how quick the token giver is and how vocal the funnel managers, we have runner numbers now where even making the funnel as long as it can be in our location, we get about 5 minutes when huge numbers finish and we can't get them through the funnel quickly enough.

We're going to try a double funnel next Saturday, a la Bushy.

I just wondered if there's a simpler way of managing things that we haven't thought of?

We don't have that problem yet, Daisy. Good luck with the double funnel.

Northala Fields, princess!

40 mins direct on tube from Holborn. Then a one mile walk/run/bus.

LD, how many runners do you get? 500+ and I think you need a double funnel. There's a good diagram on how the double funnel works which I can send if you want it

Yes, we're regularly 500+ these days, CW. That's a good diagram, thank you for sharing it. I will pass it on to the core team if I may, as we're a bit concerned about confusing the volunteers who haven't seen a double funnel in action. It might help them to understand the system (though obviously for the first few weeks we're aiming to put people who have used them, on funnel managing duties.) IIRC, at Bushy they use letter cards to make sure each funnel is dealt with in the right order.

I got the diagram from the ED forum, I am sure they won't mind sharing it. I think the Bushy ED has a version with 3 funnels and letter cards and there is a post explaining it all. Luckily, we have only been over 500 once and had 251 this week so no need for double funnels with us!

We has 570+ on Saturday which we semi predicted, and we managed to get away with extending the main funnel by a few metres with additional tape and stakes. But that is a useful pic thanks.
