I think we may have had a record at Bournemouth too with 704, despite a 1/4 marathon taking place nearby a bit later. It took 15 minutes to queue for the loo so no time for any chat beforehand.

I had an enjoyable run visiting Ashton Court today. The “hill” although a big challenge was not as much hard work for me as it’s reputation led me to expect. The return leg saw me achieve a new mile PB, the downhill section being completed in about five and a half minutes faster than going up! I had a reasonably good view of Ashton Gate on the way down too. Thanks for the heads up for that Dochart 👍

Didn't parkrun today as was doing a 5k race in Llandudno instead, which almost doubled in size with record entries. Meanwhile the nearest parkrun smashed its attendance record and every other parkrun in North Wales either broke its record or came pretty close.

Did Fulham Palace. My first sub-30-minute parkrun since last September, and I haven't done FP since 2016 - good to be back. It is a lovely situation especially at this time of year.

Does anyone know if there is an age when you're too young to run parkrun? I know from XC that there are restrictions on the distance that youngsters can run, but there seems to be no such restrictions with parkrun. It worries me that so many young children are regularly knocking out 5k's and being encouraged to do so. Surely the distance is too far for young, developing bones? Maybe I'm worrying too much?

Yes, under 4. Although I have seen mention of under 4s running without a barcode. There's something in the faq and possibly the wiki.

On checking, the stipulation is that children must be aged four or over to register, obtain a barcode and record a finish time. There is no prohibition, as far as I can see, on those under four participating in 5K parkruns.

Elsewhere it states that parkrun is for all ages. Perhaps surprisingly then, junior parkrun specifically stipulates that participants must be aged four or over (and under fifteen).

I think general guidance though, as decreed on the internet so who knows if it's based on solid science or just guessing, is that 7 or 8 is the earliest a child should be running 5k.
