This morning's Redstart. A Willow Warbler and a Song Thrush that looks like it had to get up in a hurry for the morning chorus 🤣

Great pics :)

Saw my first swallows yesterday. A pair (?) swooping in and out of the barn/shop at a farm shop/plant centre I visited. The staff and customers didn’t seem to worry them at all :)

Smashing pictures, ff! Envious of your redstart, a gorgeous bird we don't see much round here.

Redstart is a bit of a bogey bird for me. I used to see far more pied fly than redstart in Wharfedale. I need to go to Bolton Abbey soon! Sadly, wood warbler is barely hanging on there and they are a great fave of mine. Need to pay respects to the ancient Laund oak too

Although I am a little concerned about the treatment of said raptors, if the locals are "breading" them!

"Local ornithologist and licensed bird-ringer Barry Trevis said: "It is very important to monitor the breading success of the birds, along with their survival rates and movements.""

How are the St Mark's Flies doing this year? We don't seem to have many.

Warblerfest out alongside the river today - chiffchaffs, whitethroats, blackcaps, sedge warblers all singing their little hearts out. Highlight was first house martins of the year for me, though, a flock of them swooping over a pond.
