Heard a cuckoo while running a 10K race in Thetford Forest yesterday. Only good thing about the race for me, wasn't my finest hour.

We have a woodcock roding over the house! And the Common Sandpiper are now back on the river. |

The usual cuckoo spot still quiet here too. Unlike my quads on the way up and down. |

Swallows have finally arrived at work. They normally nest in our parts warehouse (which used to be a barn). I look forward to them swooping in at the parts counter door and twittering at us so that we'll open the big roller shutter doors for them. Sorry for the poor photo quality. Mobile phone camera plus zoom, plus me not being the rock steadiest of mounting points. |

Another cuckoo heard by Green Pond, Fritham. And actually captured. Well, a brief smudge. I had the running camera, not the heavy lens. First it was sat in a tree. Then took off. Sorry, these were the best I could get Other bird pics? My blog today from SWCP last week - if interested. fetcheveryone.com/blog/43889/2022/5/448862 |

My first swift of the year this evening, flying low over me in Great Yarmouth. Yay! Don't know why I love these birds so much but I do.

I think it’s their noises and I can spend ages just watching them feeding and flying and swooping 😀

Cracking 3 hours out this morning. First Redstart and Whitethroats of the year, both singing. At least two Garden Warblers, both singing, numerous Chiffs, Blackcaps and Willow Warblers. One maybe two Reed Warblers. Only a handful of Swallows though.
