Apparently a pair of peregrine falcons now nesting half a mile from where I live where I walk the dog regularly.

Will have to spend some more time up there and see if I can spot anything.

We do have grey partridge where I live, but also lots of red legged ones. The greys are hard to spot but I hear them sometimes.

Still no swallows, or martins, at my house. They are now 8 days late.

Skylarks, curlew and lapwing around work along with various thrushes, goldfinch and an assortment of 'little brown jobs'.

At home there is a blue tit obsessed with his own reflection!

Spotted woodpecker comes pretty much every day for breakfast, I think it was last year the whole family of them came!

Saw swifts, swallows and house martins on my lunchtime walk. There was also a hooded crow acting strangely, it swooped down to the riverside path and lunged into the grass where a heron was sitting un noticed. It pulled the poor heron's tail, then kept sqwaking at it. The heron didn't want to fly off, presumably scared to be mobbed in the air so it just stood there.

Swifts. Cool. I love them.

Both my road, and the road outside my work tend to have plenty of swifts each year, I could listen to them all day long.

Nesting nearby?

Maybe, nothing obvious though.

So do I, the screams make me think that they are adding sound effects to their jet fighter pilot routines 😊
