Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

More on the chough - seems most of Cornwall choughs aren't ringed. And I've been asked not to share the location - the main threat these days appears to be egg collectors.

In other news, skylarks. Like buses. Wait years to see one up close, then loads come along together. Posing on a fence post, then after a quick climb and drop.

I'm 95% sure it's the same bird, I didn't realise the crest was an option - the web indicates it comes up when alarmed?

Lots of bird pics from yesterday walks, pipits, kestrel, 'rock oycs', 'rock curlews', buntings/warblers - most to be identified and shared next week when I'm back home.

Yes indeed, jacdaw. I ran the fling. The thought had occurred to me that it could have been a single cuckoo, following me to mock my effort to get to the finish.

JD - I spoke to you and Mrs JD after the checkpoint where she got through by the skin of her teeth. It was great to meet you both. I had to work really hard to get through the CP's. :)

Apologies for hijacking this thread.

It really was skin of the teeth!

It was good to meet you too. I'm glad you finished, although I don't think after Beinglas there was any doubt that you would.

Also apologies for hijacking thread.

We had a skylark singing on this morning’s work as we headed out to somewhere different to walk. One of my happy sounds 😀

And we have a Robin nesting in our Robin box 😀 finally!!! You can just peak them through the Ivy as it’s tail is sticking up at the back of the box 😀
