Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Why on earth do you think you can get me to reformat the figures for your article? How is it part of my job to do that? You are being PAID to write this article - are you going to pay me for the time it's going to take to do jobs which, frankly, are core competencies for a working scientist who publishes regularly? No, thought not.

Drop everything to rewrite an article that somebody else is a year late with, in a week? Not. A. Chance. [If it wasn't my boss asking me to do it, that would have received a diplomatic "I regret that my current workload prohibits me taking this on with such a short deadline. Best of luck finding another sucker"]

I used to respect you but not any more. You're rude, insensitive, and ignorant.

I'm confident that when we move into our new house that the phone and broadband will be working and BT won't have messed that simple job up.

Feminine hygiene products have such boring packaging.

[If they were for blokes we'd demand descriptive gems like: 'You Little Bleeder' ... 'Shark Bait' ... 'Halloween Scare Scene' and so on ]

If you didn't spend so much time trying to micro manage people who didn't ask for your input in the first place, you'd probably be less stressed.

Good to see that the Guardian has a reasonably accurate understanding of technology:
