How do we think this ends?
I mean how it will end as opposed to how it should end.

I have no idea and wouldn't want to hazard a guess. Although plenty others will guess and if they by chance get it right will claim to have predicted it.

I know whose side I'm on though.

I just hope it doesn't drag on for years as many are predicting. Bit like the First World War, with lives lost to gain a few metres of blasted earth.
Putin has to be got rid of before the end is in sight.

It's a bit depressing when, perhaps realistically, the best chance of it ending is Putin having cancer.

But, I look at what Ukraine has achieved with so little, I accept they had a lot of, shall we say, soft support (spotting etc) from the outset, now they are getting hardware better than the Russians it's a cause for optimism.

But the air inferiority bothers me TBh, I only found out the other day that Ukraines Air to air missiles are 100K shorter in range than their enemies, whose missiles they have no avionics to 'see' coming, relying on ground radar to tell them.

I know they have a thing for F16's but surely an upgrade on the kit they have got is at least feasable? Or give them some Tornado GR-1s sure there must be a few knocking around

Yup.

theatlantic.com

... We should want victory as Ukraine defines it. But to achieve it, the West must not only aid in the defeat of Russia—it must convince Russia that it has been defeated ...

... A Russia that prevails would be a Russia even further empowered to meddle in Europe and to expand its influence with unlimited violence; a Russia that will have learned that it can commit slaughter and atrocities with impunity ...

... Ukraine must not only achieve battlefield success in its upcoming counteroffensives; it must secure more than orderly Russian withdrawals following cease-fire negotiations. To be brutal about it, we need to see masses of Russians fleeing, deserting, shooting their officers, taken captive, or dead. The Russian defeat must be an unmistakably big, bloody shambles ...
