We don't actually know what kind of delivery vehicle it was a this point, airborne certainly - the premise is that it was most likely launched inside Russia.

If you look closely, you can see a couple of figures that look like people on a ladder to the roof, just as the drone explodes. Very odd.

One of the pundits on Russian TV last night was asked how come the drones weren't shot down at long range, and replied that they were most likely launched locally.

The one thing that is certain is that you must never take anything that comes out of Russia at face value, unless you can confirm with other evidence.

Absolutely. Peter Pomarantsev's book springs to mind.

Yes, can see it.. Seems the thing is on a bit of a precipice, a big counter offensive is a huge risk, the Russians have had time to fortify their positions so it will be a bloody campaign to breakthrough and vulnerable to air attack if they do get past the front line. However so far the Ukrainians have boxed very clever indeed.

In other news, lots of nuclear sabre-rattling today. Some minor kerfuffle when a MAINSTAY (an A-50 AWACs) took off and there was inevitable conclusions it was there to provide AEW for an ABnCP (airborne command post - an essential part of a strategic nuke scenario), however it turned out to be nowt more than the usual scaremongering.

As a complete non-expert this sounds bad for the Russians

It's either Blackmail for equipment/ammunition or a smoke screen to lull Ukraine into a false security/optimism. I suspect everyome sees through Putins bullshit nowadays
