I'd wear VF from what you've said there. Wore them in similar circumstances twice before and didn't regret it

I'd wear VF and be prepared to dig my toes in a little bit at the start / finish if I needed to!
btw - I ran the Snowdonia mara in pair of well worn VF

Also did Snowdonia in Next% and the final descent (huge rain the day/night before) was...tricky. But still worth the time saved over rest of course.

I'd do VF but *would* be happy to go carefully over some very short sections.
I ran in VFs for a marathon that had 1-2km of unpaved mixed path round a reservoir (grass/dirt/gravel), admittedly it was summer but still potentially a bit slippy. You've still got 42km of road to handle!

If it's tidy grass I'd wear the VF and not worry. If it's messy grass I'd wear the VF and be a wee bit careful on the grassy bits. I've worn mine in a local 10k with a turning point that's a little loop on grass and gravel and although they weren't at their happiest it wasn't a problem.

OK, thanks all. I haven't done the race before but the grass parts look flat with a decent enough surface.

Big G - Pretty sure you could've anticipated the answer to this from the vaporfly thread? 😂
I agree with others, unless you've got 200m of thick mud at the start/end you'll get more from the VF than switching to something else that's got better grip.
