Is this the same site that people were ordering improbably cheap supershoes from and then getting cancellation notices a few pages back?

Those are old versions at least with what looks to be limited stock rather than pre orders so not necessarily dodgy like the previous pre order sale.

I’m not sure, I didn’t see that. These are version 2 so the older ones.

So I used my Adidas Evo Pro 1 for the Amsterdam marathon.
Feedback on the shoes for those who are interested.

The shoes had enough traction even though there had been some drizzle earlier that morning.
The Evo Pro didn't feel special, but I'm used to wearing super shoes, I run 2 marathons per year and I always buy a new pair of Vaporfly for each race and I use my old Vaporfly's in training (approx. 400 miles before I throw them away).
The Evo Pro feels not as soft as the latest Vaporfly. But they are very light.

The Vaporfly 3 in my size: 200 grams.
The Evo Pro 1 in my size: a mere 140 grams.

What advantage dit I get wearing the shoes ? I don't think they have any advantage over the Vaporfly apart from the weight benefit. If anything they feel a little less cushioned.

Maths:
- we know 100 gram of weight saving causes a benefit in running economy of 1%
- a 4% better running economy (like the OG Vaporfly) is considered to correlate with a 2.5% better running performance
- a 3hour marathon is 10800 seconds.

-> the shoes confer a 40 seconds benefit for a 3 hour marathoner.

This may have been crucial, as I ran a 2:59:37 marathon ! With 200 gram shoes like the Vaporfly this would have been 3:00:17.

The 2:59:37 was a four minute improvement on my previous PB. Only 40 seconds can be attributed to the shoes.
But in my case they were worth the hefty price tag.

I think the Evo Pro are good for another marathon. Not a one race shoe imho.

Got something to say?
