You could still try racing in them? Maybe an xc fixture? 😅

Seriously though, that's really shit. I hope you get a refund quickly.

I paid on my credit card so even if sports direct are going to be a pain about it I can get my credit card involved.

It would seem that if you just want to send something back it’s fairly easy although you pay the post. If the item is faulty or they sent the wrong thing you have hoops to jump through which could take forever.
I’ve checked and they don’t have any in my size in stock. They probably never did.

I thought stories like this might not come again in the supershoe era. Of course he might have won if he hadn't lost his spike. Not seen the full course but imagine it was flat and spikes weren't crucial (he was wearing the Dragonfly track spike although teammates have worn that on proper courses here).

I paid a trip to an Asics store today as I was the mega lucky winner of the fetch advent Asics door. Tried out the Sky Paris and the Edge Paris, and also the Novablast 5.

Broadly:
Both supershoes feel ridiculously light and airy. They are broad in the forefoot but also run short - I ended up going half a size up from my usual. The foam is extremely light and responsive. The upper feels like nothing at all, you almost feel there's nothing covering your foot.

Sky Paris feels like a big stable wedge of superlight foam. It's much broader feeling than my current vaporfly 2 which is a bit like running on rails. The plate also felt less aggressive. Yet I have to say it felt really nice, I could imagine running very fast in it. It felt like it would corner well and had a sense of stability along the whole length of the shoe.

Edge Paris felt notably unstable in the rearfoot at low and walking speed but at 5k pace felt like a rocket ship. At marathon pace I'm not sure which I prefer, I'd definitely choose this for 5 and 10k but not so sure for half marathon and longer. The plate definitely felt aggressive and it wants you to be on your midfoot (mind you the sky paris also felt like it was best when landing midfoot).

I still don't quite know which I preferred!

Bonus review: Novablast 5 is beautiful daily driver, squishy and bouncy and maximalist but not heavy. No road feeling whatsoever but still responsive and you could run tempo in it.

Bonus review 2: Wore my vinted bargain Puma Nitro Fast-R (v 1) for a fast parkrun at the weekend and they were incredible. Don't think I would wear for a marathon as not super cushy but really did want to go fast. Having tried those Asics recently I would say they felt like a firmer version of the Edge Paris.

Interesting @Hills of Death (HOD) did you try the edge too? I felt like the Sky maybe felt like more of a marathon shoe.

Superblasts look great, nice vinted find- i didn't try them as my willingness to pay for non supershoes is pretty low and they are ££ at RRP.

Congratulations on a superb prize, @auburnette:) I can't think of a more appropriate winner.
