Getting my excuses in early. I have definitely picked up the children's cold. All that remains to see is to what level. With 36 hours or so of chill time, let's hope I can get things I under control enough to run at least. My race strategy remains the same though. As I'm running to % of threshold, I can still do that as it's running to what my body is capable of on the day, rather than a specific race pace or target. |

Hope things recover soon @Mark J π³πΏ I think sometimes when we reduce load we do get ill. How often do we feel ill when we have leave from work especially after a really busy period. The %threshold sounds like a great way to run a marathon. Was going to do that at Tissington if I hadnβt got injured. Pinching your table to adapt for November

Oh no, I'm sorry you couldn't avoid a brush with the cold. Hopefully, it's only a brief blip on the radar. All the best on Sunday. Recover well while you are in Christchurch on your own. I'm slightly concerned about the weather which is going to be a lot warmer than what I trained in but I do everything I can to mitigate it. The latest thing is running during the warmest time of the day, mid-afternoon, in winter clothing. It was a toasty one in 15Β°C. Running in a vest in 15Β°C will feel nice after this - or so I hope. I'll run to power and HR (Stryd adjusted its power target by 1 W after I plugged in the temperature I'm expecting) so it is what it is on the day. |
