Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Ok, I am tentatively putting my name down again for a sub 3:30 attempt.

Looking at October 19th at Goodwood Motor Circuit with "RunThrough", a company i've run with once before.

Flat, looped course on a race track, if the conditions on the day are good, it should be ideal for a fast time.

Hope the weather is kind to you @ptr_runner I’ve run a half at Goodwood and that was enough loops for me. Lovely flat surface but the circuit is undulating and exposed if it’s windy.

Your name is on the board @ptr_runner

I'm now done, apart from a brief and gentle ParkRun on Saturday. Don't think I've ever felt as prepared as this. Let's hope I don't or something else doesn't stuff up on the day now. 😁

Good to hear from you @auburnette I hope everything went well with your part time degree. I had some extra stress this time round due to a 12 week training programme to become a data analyst. I finished it with my final project on 31st March so I'm glad that's it's done and dusted and I can focus on the taper.

Well done getting through the training block, @SailorSteve that's a win in itself.

Welcome back on the board @ptr_runner it's still a while until you start training for that but I hope that you can lay a good foundation in spring for your training block later.

Have a great final taper week, @Mark J πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ. Your training looked really impressive and you're ready to smash it on Sunday, it's going to be PB time.

Thank you, @riggys99 . I hope the weather doesn't throw a spanner in the wheels. I've trained mostly in cool temperatures (I think freezing to 10Β°C) and now, just in time for the marathon, it's going to warm up to 20. Luckily, we'll start at 9:30 and I should be done by 12:50 before the warmest time of the day. Running in the sun will be challenging though. I've looked at the water stations along the course, every 2.5 km so I'll dump some water over me at every single one of them.

I suspect you'll also absolutely smash it @tipsku. It's been a great block from you, too.

Thanks all for the well wishes.

Last day of the week here and the temp has dropped perfectly in time for the weekend. A brisk 8-9 degrees this morning. Perfik. :)

Now I just need to hope that the lingering cold my children have and that's threatening me with a sniffle, buggers off in time for Sunday. I'm flying down solo to Christchurch tonight for the weekend. Which will be odd as we normally go as a family, but I think I'll appreciate the peace and quiet for preparation this time round.

I'm sure to post again but just in case, best wishes @Hills of Death (HOD) and @tipsku. See you on the other side.
