A five lap 20 mile race for me this morning. Once again around an airfield and wet and breezy in places. A pb as I have never done a 20 mile race before 2.40.15 first FV55 and pretty chuffed with a 79.92 wava.

As you can see I took the first lap a little slower and picked up the pace in the last. Felt really strong even though I didn't taper for it and brings this week to just over 60 miles. Average heart rate was still 3 bpm lower than I would expect for a marathon so again promising.

Hope the Grizzly went well guys. We had rain on and off for most of the race and can't imagine trails today πŸ˜•

Thanks SailorSteve It has definitely helped in deciding to try for a sub 3.30. I felt I could have kept running today and this run was without a taper.

Biggest session of this cycle for me today. 20 miles with 14 at MP, 3 wu and wd. Felt really good, possibly ran a touch too fast in the wu and cd (last mile I picked back up to MP - couldn't resist it) but really happy with how it felt. MP miles averaging about 7.50 and a whole run average of 20 miles at 8:03 pace.

Heart rate averaging 158 (z3)so had more to give I think! Marathon avg for me is in the mid 160s across the whole run.

Amazing running Solo, incredible consistent fast pace and super WAVA!! Any prizes on offer for that?
