12 miles @ 7:20s isn’t going to be a particular stress on you in current shape lark.

But it's not "just" 12MP, it's 20 with 12MP.

Is 20 with 12MP harder than 13.1 @HMP ? Not sure, probably depends how much endurance you have built up and how easy you do the other 8 - just jog, or "steady" ?

How about a compromise, 18 with 10MP ;-)

WW - Its practically a jog :-)

I am with Gus actually, doesn't need to be 20 and that's where it could be too much and in fact even 18 is a lot.

LOL, not a cat in hell's chance!

With the fairest of fair winds, I'm starting to think a PB is a realistic target (3:14:29 is the PB) and if that comes off then I might think about getting myself back to the ambition of 3:05 if my cunning plan to have a London place comes to fruition as I think that's where I could and should have been in Oct 2019 and / or April 2020.

Yes, I think it needs to be one or the other rather than trying to combine both with the caveat that if experience suggests you can do the combination then you can.

Baz - look at me contributing without ever running one (and not even considering it), lol. You can enjoy other racing, assuming you like them. Presumably this is achieved goal fatigue?

lol @ goal achieved fatigue :-)

Its more age catching up with me sadly and the lack of focus on racing during covid seems to have set me back quite a lot as I am 60-90s down on my 5k times.

I've never bothered with mp miles within a long run as I've always run as a separate shorter session. As long as you've done the miles and the harder sessions then that should be enough!
