Been really tempted with Dartmoor Discovery for a while but it is just a pain to get to.

Well worth it, Joe. I'm back for my 10th go this year. If you can get to a nearby railway station and put something on the race page, there's usually someone about to give you a lift, if that's the issue. If it's Dartmoor per se, yup, it's an arse to get to, but again, well worth it for the whole event.

Joe, if it helps, there is camping available. I know that doesn’t help in terms of actually getting out there, but what I mean is you can arrive the day before the race, and stay after the race, to leave the day after. But public transport isn’t possible, I don’t believe.

First run of the P&D 18 week plan this morning. Awful morning to run (feels like temp up at 29 degrees) but I got it done with 4 miles at (current) 15km pace. Hopefully running hard in this heat this will pay dividends down the track.

Good to see you jek. I think you'll find not much has changed. PtB will be here fairly soon to discuss the benefits of even pacing for a marathon ...........

*eyes* thread
Hi JT. You coaching more than running now?
Hope the thread managed to get out and get plenty of miles done in the recent wind, rain, storms... Sometimes I miss it, but sometimes I definitely don't.

4 weeks under the belt of P&D and all going to plan. Found the last week more of a slog, partly due to the weather I think. But legs still working and "only" 8 weeks to go. I do feel a little uncertain about goals though, not really been in that position before - I know I can tend towards sandbagging, but I'm finding it hard to extrapolate from what are certainly negative comparisons from where I was 2 years ago (e.g. tempo pace and HR shows I'm definitely slower than I was). Plenty of time to solidify that though.

I am getting the miles in, approaching 60mpw, but not seeing any rewards in terms of faster pace. Albeit the wind has a bit say in that.
An awful 21:52 Parkrun on Saturday that was badly wind affected.
Valentines 10k this Sunday where I see some wind is forecast so not sure if I will improve on my last effort 4 weeks ago
