Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I reckon I am nowhere near close to being 3:15 shape now - I need to make the long runs a wee bit longer. The question is can I be bothered upping the game to move that towards 3:15 or not. I suspect not.

WW - I've never walked in a marathon. Except for the ones I was doing "for fun" - Boston, London marathon as a guide runner, some hilly ones, some off road ones, and all the ultras! :-) G

Oh, now I'm embarrassed. I've even taken the tube as part of my journey to the finish line in VLM!

I also walked almost a complete lap of the Olympic stadium at the end of Amsterdam, breaking in to a jog when I briefly became lucid enough to realize I could go sub 3:15!!

Puzz - you are clearly in great shape, you continue to churn out runs that make my mind boggle. Really hope that you get to race. Fingers crossed for you.

and now I've seen what G did there...

I'm not sure that I'm in shape to even complete a marathon right now. if I just made the long runs a wee bit longer then I might be in sub 3:30 shape. The question is can I be bothered upping the game to move that towards 3:15 or not. I suspect not.

Still target sub 90 over Tower Bridge though ;-)

Hmm - Not sure I've ever not walked in a marathon , usually just aid stations if I am actually trying though.

What’s your stories Baz and Stoosh? I assume you get on the tube/dlr for free.

Whoah, it was WW and Stoosh that got the tube/dlr home. Ive made it to the finish every time !!!

My one marathon with walking was Palma. I went in injured, did a fitness test 2 days before, decided to run. Stupidly. Almost withdrew at mile 14 as I passed my hotel but soldiered on. At mile 19 my calf went pop (not the original injury) and I ran/hobbled the rest trying to avoid a PW and missed by 3 mins
