I'm still hopeful for sub 3h15m at Snowdonia next month, although I haven't done as many 15mile+ runs recently as I would have liked to and have just come back from 2 week holiday

Nice one 360, my current 10k and half goals are exactly the same. I'm going to try in Leicester and NY this year for the Marathon but have also just booked Paris in the spring if all else fails. Good luck.

John Bach, I would guess if you do sub 3:15 in Snowdonia you probably have a good chance of a sub 3hour on the flat.

I'm going to try for this now. My race times have got quicker so maybe it isn't as unrealisitc as it seemed in May.

Hi all Doing my first marathon this October(Loch Ness) this year I have ran 42min for 10k after a 3 week lay off injury & flu feel I could go near 40 minutes, ran 1.34 for half marathon without tapering down. Does 3hrs 25 sound a realistic target, would appreciate any comments.

gcas - McMillan predicts a 3:18 marathon based on your half time. So 3:25 should be achievable.

gcad, sounds realistic, I did 3hrs 21 for my first marathon with similar times to that. then my next two were slower, for various reasons.

I'm going for sub 3.15 at LNM. Race time predictors give anything from 3.05 to 3.10 and my training and target races have been spot on, so I'm hoping to make it comfortably.

He does tend to be more than a little optimistic for me too BR.
