I'm still working towards 3:15, either at FLM or later on in Berlin in September. Training still going well - plenty of miles, faster speedwork than this time last year and 3x 18M runs, first 20 next weekend

phew - I was beginning to feel lonely!
My training has been going well, but i think I'm fighting a virus at the moment. I feel tired, a bit achey, and have a hint of a sore throat. My run yesterday felt a bit tougher than it should and I'm supposed to be racing a half tomorrow. Let's hope that a rest day today will help.

I've had a virus for about 3 weeks. I got out for my first run in 10 days this morning. Ony 5 miles or so, but very hard work.
At least I'm getting the illnesses out of the way early this year. Hopefully it'll be easier from now on.

Hopefully still on for 3.15 at Paris this year. I'm surprised how hard it is to improve after the gains in my first year and a half of racing.

Hi BR - when is Paris this year? It's usually a week or so before London isn't it? I hit a bit of a plateau after massive improvements in my first year too. Things moved on again after I had a baby........but I think it was more to do with structured training than having given birth. I do less mileage now, but train harder.

B - Paris is on 15th April, the week before London. I'm glad to say that having babies isn't an option, although doing a marathon is probably the nearest we get to it pain wise. I think you are right about structuring the training and I'm now looking at working harder at the speedwork etc.

BR - personally I find marathon running much easier than producing children!! You don't need 9 months to train for a marathon; it's over quicker than most labours; you can stop running if it gets too painful; and once it's over it's over
I have one child but I've completed 6 marathons........nuff said!

8x800m this evening. Fastest rep 3:09, slowest rep 3:19, average time 3:13. Not quite the full Yassos yet but an encouraging sign

That's good going Katie.
I did 8.5 with the club tonight and feel terrible now. This cold is really beginning to pee me off.

I did a very hilly and muddy 10 with the guys yesterday lunchtime. My legs felt like they'd been through a mangle last night - but I feel much better today.
I've never tried yassos - the closest thing I do I suppose is 5 x 5 mins @10k pace. Haven't got a track near by
