Bloody hell JR2 that's superb. Fibromyalgia limits what I can do so I know. More than capable of going quicker but I just can't do it anymore. Some days I can't run how I want so ease off. |

Just in case of any doubt, Jock, that 34:06 time was not by me! I have hopes of dipping under 36 again, but sub-35 is alas, I think, beyond me at the age of 61. Sorry to hear about the fibromyalgia, that isn't good. Hope you can excel yourself despite that.

I had dreams of a sub 2:37 at Berlin before a stupid ankle ligament tear during a friendly football match got in the way. Went for my first proper run n three months this morning so feeling a bit more positive. Some super impressive times here so even though age is not on any of our sides, there is still hope.

Some great times there guys. Jock you're right about post 50. Although it didn't hit me until 55. And it looks like Tommy Hughes has gone 10 years further. I'm mainly out on the fells these days (where at national level the standards are incredible). But managed a 35 min road 10k late last year. And I'm still pacing for the sub 1.20 HMs. |

What guys in my 60-64 age group are achieving in this last year or so is pretty amazing. The guy (Peter Hockin) who ran 34:06 for 10K last year also ran a 16:43 parkrun, and there are a few others doing sub-17 5Ks as well. 60 is the new 50 (which is a bugger for me, as I was hoping to get some age grading joy to compensate a little for the misery of ageing ).

800m M65+ WR here, sure he's slower than he once was but still doing sessions that I think I'd be blown off the back of: |

Yep! I ran 2:23 for 800m last year, which is decent for a 60+ runner, but he's a good few seconds quicker and a good few years older!
