I remember when Gogglebox revealed what happened to The Night King. I was very peeved.

When Celebrimbor started fiddling about with those jewels, did anyone else think, 'Ooh, there'll be trouble if Thanos gets his hands on them'?

I'm really curious to see how my non-Tolkein-reader wife will react to the big reveal in the finale (and I'm assuming I've worked it out because durrrr of course he is! I could be wrong).

I'm not sure how this series is working for anyone who hasn't got a reasonable book knowledge. It looks pretty but most of the fun for me has been spotting the little clues that link back to stuff in the books. Mrs Nellers is pretty much watching because I am at this stage. She's certainly not at all hooked by the drama.

So it has picked up quite a bit over the last couple of episodes, probably enough for me to watch the 2nd series. Always more interesting if one of the main characters actually dies from their injuries so there's some real jeopardy.

Hopefully there will be more dwarves and fewer Harfoots next season!

Well there’ll certainly be one fewer hat foot won’t there?

Mrs Nellers thought that final episode justified sticking with it for next series too. A lot happened, and it felt a bit rushed to me.

However, the reveals were quite satisfying to me having seen them hinted at throughout the series and been pretty much convinced beforehand. I liked how both were handled.

Mrs Nellers only realised the main deception as it was being revealed and was shocked by it. The secondary mystery was a bit more opaque to her in the way it was shown, and it was after the episode had finished and we were talking it through that the penny dropped, at which point she decided it was obvious all along and she loves the show!

I do think they would both be a bit odd to “casual” fans.

I hadn't realised they were releasing 3 episodes at the same time. We're off on holiday tomorrow so unlikely to get caught up until we're back on Friday, when there's a 4th episode out as well. We might never catch up! ;-)

I'm going to finish off some of the things I'm currently watching first. If all the episodes are out by then it might work better for me to watch them every other day rather than waiting a week.

Well, Amazon have spent an awful lot of money making a new series, and with great cheek/reverence released it on the anniversary of Tolkien's death. Will you be watching? Have you seen it? What did you think? I've seen the first two episodes, but no spoliers for those who haven't please!
