Amen to that.
“The Jobs Fu’*ed” is the saying in my world.
I’m really going to miss my team though. The people make it bearable.

I am with Greg. It’s some of the people who make work so difficult. Yes many are good but it’s those that are not that create issues.

When I've left jobs in the past it's usually been because of difficult people (subsequent events have indicated that it wasn't me who was the difficult people). The one exception is a practice I left twice, both times due to relocation. I liked all my immediate colleagues in my last job but had the reassurance of knowing that any of them would have moved on without giving me a second thought if the opportunity had arisen.

I dont miss the people I work with at all (apart from one of them). Very bizarre after spending 4 days a week with them over many years

I ultimately retired my way out of a horrendous workplace, mainly because it was made that way by quite a few unpleasant fellow staff with the help of my boss.

I I have to agree with Flatlander. In the end I retired because of a deeply unpleasant environment and an equally unpleasant group of people with whom I had to work. I haven't missed them.

I did exactly that for the same reason from my previous team, took a month off then went to work on staff bank so I could pick and choose, immediately fell into the job I have now, it was supposed to be for a few weeks, it’s now just over 5 years, I really like the people I work with although none of them were in the team when I joined, if it hadn’t been for Covid and working from home I would have fully retired a year ago, now I have made the decision to go next year I can’t wait, I could of course go now and if things get difficult I will but the extra income is useful.

I left my last full time employer 6 years ago now, of the teams I worked with, some 70 or 80 people. I have kept in touch with 7 maybe 8, and have actually met in person 4.
You go to work for money and hopefully you enjoy some aspects of the work. People, not do much.
Perhaps this is a consequence of getting older and you get set in your ways or choose friends more carefully. After all when I started work 40 year ago we formed a football team and I still see more of them than more recent work colleagues.
