Can safely say the last two nights I haven’t dreamt of work and hopefully it won’t happen as the days and weeks of retirement unfold. So far I haven’t had time to miss work as cleaning up after the Christmas and New Year visitors is quite a job, amazing what two little boys can do in two short weeks.

I never dreamt of work ever and never gave it a thought once I'd left. I'm very good at 'moving on'. |

I’ve only ever had teaching dreams despite leaving teaching 7 years ago

I had some weird stuff in the 2-3 months after leaving as years of stress fell away. I’d sleep soundly at night then need another 2-3 hours during the day. Despite having loads of time I felt lethargic and unrested when I expected to feel surging with energy. In hindsight it was definitely rehab from all the stress and fatigue built up over years, and after 2-3 months I’d recovered and felt great. |

I must have picked up on the back to school vibe from teaching friends on facebook, I had a series of linked dreams/nightmares that were partly school related last night. I don't think I ever dreamed about previous work, but the school job did give me frequent anxiety dreams. |

Weirdly when I am really stressed I dream about a job I had back in the early 90s, think it left a big impression!

I left work quite a few years ago, so currently I get very few dreams about work. I wouldn't be surprised if when I was working I had lots of work dreams due to the severe stress I was enduring.

I think the fact that you only dream about some jobs or periods is interesting. Like there is something unresolved that you have to keep revisiting. When you wake up after dreaming about having babies @Velociraptor do you feel relief, disappointment or something else? I thought the work dreams thing was fairly unusual, but clearly I am far from alone 😉 |

I dreamt about my previous boss last night - that I was still in a toxic situation and he was about to make another move that had me feeling helpless. I don’t know where that came from, although yesterday was stressful - but not work-related at all.
