HappyG(rrr) wrote: Lol 3M. I keep forgetting every time I say "I hate my job" that you are reading these! I actually like the org I'm in now - people, values, offices, type of project I'm in, even my role. But it's just that IT generally, especially in large financial companies, isn't where I want to be. Out of 33 years of doing this and 15 different tenures, this is one of the better ones! Anyhoo, that's enough brown-nosing! I want to be outdoors, helping people do new things. It's hard to that in IT in financial services! G Lol. I've been here so long I'm institutionalised, HappyG(rrr)! Cut me through and see the company name like a stick of rock But that doesn't mean I disagree. I just quite liked the idea of actually being paid at the end of each month (when I was a lot younger!). And then I discovered that I quite liked it here until I was allowed to retire anyway! |

Certain run sessions I want to do in a week. This sometimes has to be switched to accommodate family commitments or holidays. That said, I do have a more structured plan for the next 14 weeks in the run up to the half marathon. |

Our days are very like V-rap’s. We usually have PT twoce a week and parkrun most Saturdays. The last thing I want is a schedule, pottering, wandering, etc feature a lot.

I would guess several retired Fetchies have training plans (else why are they filling training logs, doing Fetch challenges, entering races, collecting park runs etc) even if they like to allow for change. But that doesn't mean they plan every minute of the day or week! Just RELAX, Pix! Life will find its own path. |

A cut and paste from a longer (US) answer I’ll tell you what I do. . . . Nothing. And I know you’re thinking, “Hey, that sounds pretty good. I might like to do nothing myself.” But doing nothing is not as easy as it looks. You can get pretty busy doing nothing. Because when you’re doing nothing, you’re actually free to do anything. Which can easily lead to doing something. Which cuts into my nothing, and forces me to have to drop everything. In reality, we try hard not to have too many commitments, which leaves us free to decide. A lot of holiday planning, looking and doing. Family, whether MiL support, children 'support' (although they're in their 30s) and some grand children time. Runs or walks (with camera) whenever it's dry/reasonable weather. Just for the fun of it, no 'serious' training or plan. Just the 700 thread, Fetch goals, Fetch challenge, and SWCP completion to push us. A bit of house and garden maintenance. When needed rather than for the fun of it. Deadly Killer Sudoku & Times Crossword. And quite a bit of reading. And no time at all sat at the screen doing things like this ! |

I agree, Sharkie. Definitely don't plan every minute. Have to be on hand for mum if needed. That said, if we fancy going on holiday for a week, a fortnight or even a month, we do it.

I’m following the Velociraptor plan! I’m an international standard potterer.

I’m also a potterer. I like having a plan sometimes but I also like not having one. I’m really enjoying my retirement this time around. |

I try not to have too much planned but I too am a potterer. My day usually is something like this Dog walk, breakfast, a bit of tidying up, sometimes bike ride, or gym. Some gardening and anything else that happens. I actually don't know what I do really but I do love my retired life 😍 |
