I am with Macca... What are you worth to them? They are obviously in need of you!

Fizz :-) my experience may not be typical, but I took redundancy in 2020 and when my manager asked if I’d like to return as a contractor earlier this year I decided it was a good opportunity to top up our savings. After 6 months of full time, the contract has been extended but I’m only going to work 3 days a week. In general I’ve found that the knowledge that I don’t need to be there means a lot less stress, I can just do what needs to be done without worrying about office politics, performance reviews etc.

Fizz :-) Mixed feelings re the offer, on the one hand I think, yes! Do it just because of the manager’s earlier decision, I guess it was taken out of his hands? On the other hand I think, well, they had their chance! How about doing it for a month or two and the going anyway? an option?

Still feeling pressured to apply for the job in my current team, not sure whether to go along with it as I am not likely to see any changes for a while or be put on redeployment, I don’t intend to accept anything as unlikely to meet my hours etc, or whether to just give in my notice, I only want to hang on until the end of the year, I am finding this situation very stressful. Either way, I won’t get redundancy.

if you won't get VR go on your terms Mrs Jigs and quit rather than play the game if you can

MrsJ if it’s not beneficial to you to be there any longer I would quit now. 54 work days and counting……just managed to get another couple of days off so even less than 54 |

If it isn't beneficial for you to stay, Mrs J, it will be beneficial for you to leave, as soon as you can.

I guess it’s only about the pay days I would lose if I quit now instead of December.
