HG. That’s kind of the mindset we are coming to. Retirement is a realistic prospect but working means we gave more money to do things we want. That’s why this four day week compressed hours is now in my thinking.

Mr pix has said that if he gets bored he would look at a job but he doesn't expect to get bored and also thinks it would be very hard for him to get a job! He freely admits if he hadn't had the same boss for 19yrs that he probably would have lost his job as he wouldn't fit into a modern office/environment!
I think that v-raps comment will cover me I will happily do the swimming thing as I think it will be fun but technically I don't think I would need to (mind you the way prices are rising!!)

I treated myself to this print I thought you guys might like it ☺️
I did take great delight in cutting a grass path back into my garden that hasn't been cut all year. The fact that I can cut the grass paths again, I have no.lawn, is huge for me!

Currently, I'm perfectly happy with my hobbies and interests and the odd day or two of volunteering for running events. I might do more volunteering if I find something I like that isn't too much of a commitment.

One day a week as a garden volunteer at Ann Hathaway's Cottage, which comes to a seasonal halt in Nov. Might do some hours as a guide at the S-Town Guildhall next year. Because, of course, when you are retired you can.

[USER1814][USER24] Thanks for your comments, the rep doesn’t want me to lose out on potential earnings, if I go down redeployment route and no suitable positions arise that gives me another 12 weeks of employment, however, this whole situation has stirred up bad memories so I am seriously considering just resigning, I need to give it careful consideration.

I can understand why they've advised you that way then. If it's not too stressful that's fine. If it is too stressful, then the extra money just isn't worth it. Take care x

I can imagine Mr Pix being well able to keep himself entertained doing what looks objectively like very little. Which is a very good thing provided he puts his still-working wife's dinner on the table and keeps the house clean

He told someone here that my only job will be ironing as he can't! Suits me as it's very little
