Ha ha 3M 😁 I used to sleep really well, then a few years in a stressful job created a habit of waking at about 3am. When I retired, hot flushes interrupted my sleep and even though that was fixed 2 years ago, it’s rare for me to manage a full night. I often have an hour awake in the night, then I go back to sleep. I’m nowhere near as tired as I used to be though.

Job stress gave me many sleepless nights, lying there unable to sleep, mind churning and heart racing and dreading the alarm to start the day. Horrible way to live.

I'm pinning my sleep journey on Inulin powder for the next 3 months. Also: reduction of belly fat; regular poos; lower cholesterol; new car and a boat.

I always used to sleep, no matter what. A life saver! Continuing chemo seriously messes with my ability to sleep right now. It is torture! I now fully understand people who struggle to sleep. At least I am not expected to perform in a job as well right now. No idea how you do it!

I remember sitting on the office floor at 2am whilst teaching as unable to sleep I "learnt" to lie in bed without moving (and disturbing Mr Pix) and if I am awake now I still do that so Garmin thinks I am asleep My head used to over think so many things
same when dad was ill - and from time to time I now overthink mum's health and situation

I currently resort to lying down with my eyes closed. I don't sleep but at least I rest.

My sleep is fairly rubbish at the moment: dealing with my son over the holidays has knackered us out into odd sleeping patterns plus he comes into the room at all hours to open blinds/turn on lights/do a bit of prodding, plus general looming.

Today is my annual celebration of retirement. The first Monday of September and I don’t have to go to school 🎉
Tomorrow we will go to the seaside for fish and chips, as has become customary in the first week of September, since I retired 😁
What was my least favourite week of the year from the age of 5 up to 54, has become one of my favourites.

That sounds tough, JB. School holidays aren’t easy, for some children or families, with the routine changes.
