Yeah, but surely if they're healthy and not very overweight then couch to 5k or similar should get them to Sub 30 without too much trouble?
I don';t mean straight off form doing fuck all!

I'm fairly sure I've never done a sub 30 minute 5k.
It's not a goal I've ever had any interest in.

I enjoy earwigging on the occasional discussions over on sub-3.15 about how "marathon training" for codgers with day jobs is likely to be insufficient for an optimal marathon but fantastic for PBs at shorter distances.
