Got a book on Anatomy of exercise 50+ (in my case, the plus is quite a large one). Though aimed at Older People it is clearly not aimed at couch potatoes. Did a workout from it this afternoon; quite demanding.

I'd be interested in the details of that book Columba - I'm not far off 50!

They were selling it in Aldi, TeeBee, very cheap (well, £2.99p) - probably still there now if there's an Aldi near you.
Now I've been doing a few of the exercises from it I've come across a few oddities. Some of the exercises are so mild they're the sort of thing people might be doing only when their movements were extremely restricted, while others are really tough even for the relatively strong and flexible; yet nothing in the text recognises this.
Author Hollis Lance Liebman; publisher, Hinkler Books; part of a series, "Anatomy of..." - nice clear photographs, and each photograph reproduced as a drawing with rerlevant muscles shown and labelled.

Hello all, I have been lurking (and sulking mostly) but determined to get back to it. I am 51, so the training for oldies book sounds good to me! I have a place in VMLM, deferred from last year due to ongoing injuries! I will do it, may not be pretty, but will be there! I am having some sports injury therapy for my issues and going to try and get to a yoga class. Also going to get into the gym. Any help, advice or general nagging gratefully appreciated

Just got Pfitzinger's 'Faster Racing' book and interesting to note that he's changed his tune from Advanced Marathoning (at least from my edition). Heavier weights and plenty of core is the thing. May have to swop out Bodypump for a heavier session.

I've started lifting weights using the StrongLifts app, so I've gone in the direction of heavier weights, but only for the last month or so. It's something I've been intending to do for a while.
