Ambled past Chirk Castle on my walk this morning. I assume it got its name from all the little birdies chirk-chirk-chirking in the hedgerows chaffinch

Well I've traded Rockingham Castle for Eunice Frozen Products Ltd on an industrial area so it looks like making camp on the little grass verge beside the dual carriageway whilst I wait for my buddy to conveniently end up here too later 😇



Fortunately, there is a pub 5 minutes walk so I might not be in any decent state to welcome her in a few hours time 🍻🍻🍻

I do hope fetch serves large pieces of cake as I'm a fat bloke and we will be there tomorrow 🤣

Had a sneaky walk in town so made it to 300.1 and Shrewsbury Castle. Funny looking soldiers, if you ask me!

This would be a very pleasant place to pitch a tent, but given the weather forecast I'd have preferred a nice pub - should have gone for a run ;-)

Hey Doc, we were at exactly the same place briefly but my evening hill session has moved me on a bit. (Hard to find hills around Chester though.)
