Donald Trump dangled a brazen “deal” in front of some of the top US oil bosses last month, proposing that they give him $1bn for his White House re-election campaign and vowing that once back in office he would instantly tear up Joe Biden’s environmental regulations and prevent any new ones, according to a bombshell new report. If he gets in again the world is doomed. |

He's absolutely brazen. Doesn't even try to cover it up. He and his type must not prevail.

The National Farmers’ Union lobbied to increase the amount of pesticides allowed in the UK’s drinking water and to allow farmers to spread manure more frequently as part of a post-Brexit loosening of environmental regulations, it can be revealed. I wonder why. Could it be “sod the environment as long as we make more money”? |

“sod the environment as long as we make more money”? Working indirectly with farmers, for the majority, yes. I can never get over the disconnect between some [not all] farmers and the land/nature. They are meant to be the custodians. |

To be fair, they're not the only ones. But their input is pretty direct.

The good ones are amazing and involved in all sorts of projects. for some though, things like 'set aside' is a money making scheme rather than environmental improvement. |

Just a quick diversion - there is a solar storm going over the Northern Hemisphere and you can see the Northern Lights. Down South it is a vague whisper in the sky, but those further north with less light pollution should have a stronger view. Use yr phone camera in night mode There until Sunday |

I regret not saying up last night to see the lights... Facebook pages awash with pictures. It should last another night so may try to stay up tonight to go see if it's still on.

Encouraging 95% green electricity generation by Portugal linkedin.com Source is LinkedIn. As a business network, I don't know if it is any more reliable than Twitter or Facebook or anything else, so happy to be challenged if source is seen as not valid. ![]() |
