The Doctor K Cup
98 watchers
The seventh annual Doctor K Cup will take place on Saturday October 19th 2024
All you need is a GPS watch or app. On the day, RUN AT LEAST 5K WITHOUT LOOKING AT YOUR WATCH. The Fetch Benchmark system will pull out your fastest 5k from your run (so you can include it as part of your long run if you like). The person who gets closest to their prediction will be declared the winner (though the judges decision is final!).
It would be lovely if you could upload your 'K' pics to the gallery (make a K shape with your fingers) to help us remember Doctor K and all the Fetchies we have lost.
NB A GPS watch reporting 5.00km will do so from 4995 metres onwards, but you MUST run at least 5000 metres or more. To avoid disappointment add an extra 10 seconds on to the end of your run, just to make sure.
How to join in
Firstly, add the 2024 Doctor K Cup to your Fetch portfolio. All you need is a GPS watch or app. On the day, RUN AT LEAST 5K WITHOUT LOOKING AT YOUR WATCH. 57.5 Degrees of Pain
Ah, now I've found my result, down the bottom of the list. Clearly running a slightly long parkrun isn't proof against GPS gremlins. Next time I'll wear my watch so I know I've recorded 5k. Err.... |

I might be in for the worst estimate medal! Set it at 36.23 and ran 32.28 I couldn’t remember what I set it at or what I’m capable of at the minute so warmed up to the point I was across the roads then just ran harder than normal. I’m useless at pacing at best if time but remembered all our lost fetchies. Thanks as always. |

I’m not even sure if mine will record as the GPS in amongst the trees can be a nightmare. Never in contention of winning anyway

Velociraptor
43 seconds adrift, tied with Ocelot Spleens and a long way off the podium.

Mine had to wait until my break from the kitchen. (The shirt's at least a similar shade of red to my 50 parkrun top.) |

Fail for me. Ended up going for a walk with friends and the coffee stop and then the lunch stop meant that none of the sections were 5km! (Lovely walk though)
